Indianapolis, Indiana - The GT America powered by AWS field took to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the second time on Thursday afternoon in preparation for Qualifying early Friday morning. The SRO3 field didn’t have much trouble laying down sub-1:27 lap times, and the top contenders in GT4 were only four seconds from there. Get ready for some no-holds-barred qualifying runs tomorrow.
In SRO3, George Kurtz (#04 CrowdStrike with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3) laid down a blistering 1:24.292, who was a little over one-and-a-half-seconds quicker than Andy Pilgrim’s (#56 SKI Autosports Ferrari 458 Italia GT3) 1:25.950. Rounding out the top three was Kyle Washington (#032 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R (991.ii)) with a 1:26.199.
GT2’s CJ Moses (#58 Audi R8 LMS GT2) laid down a 1:31.131.
GT4 saw Tom Capizzi (#52 Auto Technic Racing BMW M4 GT4) set a 1:31.222, whereas Ross Chouest (#50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) wasn’t far off with 1:31.464. Completing the top three quickest contenders was Gray Newell (#25 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) with a 1:31.513.
