Practice 1 Kicks Off the GT America Powered by AWS Weekend at Watkins Glen International

Watkins Glen, New York - GT America powered by AWS has kicked off the late July weekend in beautiful Upstate New York, with no shortage of sunny skies and fast lap times.

In SRO3, George Kurtz set the fastest lap of the session with a 1:47.855 in his #04 Crowdstrike by Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3. Justin Wetherill grabbed the second-fastest time of 1:50.891 in his #37 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3. Three seconds behind Kurtz was Jason Harward in the #88 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3.

In GT4, Marco Radisic claimed the quickest run of the course with a 1:57.216 in his #22 SRQ Motorsports BMW M4 GT4. Seth Lucas followed closely behind in the #016 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4, followed by Gray Newell in his #25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4.

The #79 RENNtech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 driven by Chris Gumprecht experienced an off towards the end of the session, which brought out the red flag and ended the session early.

Practice session #2 will start at 1:45 PM (EST).
