- DXDT, Chevrolet Sets Early Pace
- Practice 1 Results
The GT America powered by AWS field partook in their first practice session at VIRginia International Raceway following the summer break, however, wet weather conditions limited the running due to persistent rain and numerous delays. Given the circumstances, some competitors opted not to take to the track in the session, and drivers and teams will be hoping for clearer skies as the weekend continues at VIR.
The session was ultimately delayed and shortened to 25 minutes due to back-to-back stoppages for thunderstorms and heavy rain. Nevertheless, Blake McDonald took on the slick surface and set the pace in his No. 11 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, clocking a best lap of 2:03.742 around the damp circuit.
Memo Gidley was behind the wheel of the No. 56 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II, and ended the session second-fastest. Rounding out the top three was Ross Chouest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Chevrolet Corvette.
Let’s Get Racing
