- Tan, ST Racing Goes Fastest in SRO3
- Swearingin, ACI Motorsports Raises the Stakes in GT4 Class
- Practice 2 Unofficial Results
Heavy clouds loomed overhead as scattered rain drops fell over the track, but not enough to deter the GT America powered by AWS field from setting off for Practice 2 on Friday afternoon. The 45 minute session went uninterrupted, and it was a true toss-up for positions all the way to the very end.
Samantha Tan made a late charge to move up to first overall in her No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, while Curt Swearingin was on the rise in the GT4 class in his No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
SRO3 Class
Much like he did in Practice 1, Justin Rothberg set the pace once again in his No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3, going quickest for the majority of the session. However, on her twentieth and final flying lap, Samantha Tan stormed to the top of the charts in her No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT3, setting the best overall time of 1:23.262.
In third and fourth place, Johnny O’Connell and Jason Daskalos were keeping each other honest. The drivers of the No. 3 SKI Autosports Audi R8 LMS GT3 and No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 are battling for the SRO3 championship lead, which the former currently holds. Meanwhile, it was a top 5 finish for Jason Bell in the No. 2 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO.
GT4 Class
As per the norm, Isaac Sherman and Curt Swearingin were exchanging fastest laps to and fro on board their No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. In the end, it was Swearingin who got the upper hand, going fastest in the GT4 class.
In third place was Gray Newell in the No. 24 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, followed by Todd Parriott in the No. 31 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, and Nicholas Shanny in the No. 21 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M4 GT4 G82. The trio completed the same running order as they previously did in Practice 1.
