Kurtz Clinches Pole Position, Grossberg and Swearingin Fastest in Respective Classes

The GT America Powered by AWS field took off around Sebring International Raceway for their Qualifying session early Saturday morning to set the grid for Race 1, which will follow later in the day. They had a 15-minute window to clock in their flying laps. 

George Kurtz posted the fastest lap time of the session, earning the ROWE Pole Position Award in the SRO3 class with a time of 2:01.912. Alan Grossberg set the fastest time in the GT2 class while Curt Swearingin went quickest in the GT4 class. 

SRO3 Class

Following his top performances in the two practice sessions the day before, George Kurtz wasted no time setting Sebring ablaze on board his No. 04 Crowdstrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3, posting a flying lap time of 2:01.912 to clinch pole position for Race 1.

Kurtz was one of only two drivers in the field to break through the 2:02 minute lap mark, with the other going to second-place qualifier Jason Daskalos in the No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, with a time of 2:01.991.

Justin Rothberg qualified in third position in the No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 with a lap time of 2:02.145, demonstrating strong pace during his first-ever Qualifying session at Sebring International Raceway. 

GT2 Class

Alan Grossberg clocked in a time of 2:07.891 in his No. 102 TPC Racing Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 around the bumpy track, recording his best time of the weekend thus far across both practice sessions and this morning’s Qualifying session. 

GT4 Class

The margins between Isaac Sherman in the No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport and Curt Swearingin in the No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport remained very tight throughout the session as the duo battled for the top spot. In the end, it was Swearingin who came away with pole position in the GT4 Class with a best time of 2:10.990, just a mere 0.016 seconds ahead of Sherman. 

The Top 3 was rounded off by Gray Newell in the No. 25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 with a lap time of 2:12.104.
