- Provisional Qualifying Results
Sebring, Florida - Qualifying for the GT America powered by AWS Road America race weekend began under a beautiful sunny sky and no threat of rain for the entire day at Sebring International Raceway. When it comes to wheel-to-wheel action, as well as the possibility of some championship clinching before Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the GT America field will deliver. After showing solid pace yesterday, Sonoma-winner Jason Harward will lead the pack across the start behind the wheel of the #88 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 due to laying down a 2:02.320 lap. This was over a half second faster than the 2021 pole time.
SRO3
Joining Harward on the front row will be Scott Smithson (#08 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3). Smithson loves Florida, having scored two second-place finishes at the St. Pete season opener. Not concerned with championship points, Smithson will be aiming for a win.
On row two will be George Kurtz (#04 CrowdStrike Racing with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3) and Mirco Schultis (#70 Mishumotors Callaway Corvette CR GT3-R). Kurtz, powered by six wins, is hoping to clinch the SRO3 championship this weekend while Schultis has a three-race podium streak going. Will this be the breakthrough weekend for a Callaway win?
Jeff Burton (#191 TR3 Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3) will start on row three. Burton has scored three podium finishes and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine him charging up to the front during the two 40-minute sprint races this weekend.
Alongside Burton will be Jason Daskalos (#27 Daskalos Motorsports Audi R8 LMS). Daskalos has shown great pace all season, including two early season wins. David Askew in the #63 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 rounds off the SRO3 field.
GT4
The GT4 class remains among the most competitive in the 2022 SRO World Challenge calendar with eight different winners so far this season, and four drivers in serious contention for the championship.
Moisey Uretsky (#55 Accelerating Performance Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) claimed the quickest time of his class with a 2:12.142. Uretsky is currently in contention for the 2022 GT4 championship. Alongside him is World Challenge veteran Andy Pilgrim (#3 Regal Motorsports / Bartone Bros Porsche Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR), followed by Elias Sabo (#8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) and championship-contender Adam Adelson (#120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) behind them.
Ross Chouest (#50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4) and Anthony Bartone (#427 Regal Motorsport / Bartone Bros Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CLUBSPORT MR) make up the third row. Chouest has been amazingly consistent, having scored points in 11 of the 12 races so far, including three podium finishes.
Marko Radisic (427 SRQ Motorsport BMW M4 GT4) is up next alongside Jason Bell (#2 GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4). Radisic won the opening race at St. Pete and will be looking to bring that Florida karma back to the team. Bell is the championship points lead.
On row five will be Seth Lucas (#016 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4) who claimed back-to-back wins at Watkins Glen, next to Nashville sweeper and championship contender Robb Holland (#99 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport).
Up next are Todd Coleman (#69 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4) and Custodio Toledo (#35 Conquest Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4), followed by Jose DaSilva (#67 Smooge Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4) and Nick Shanny (#21 Carrus Callas Raceteam Toyota GR Supra GT4).
Rounding off the field are Jay Logan (#71 GMG Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport) and Rick Uhler (#28 SRQ Motorsports BMW M4 GT4).
Race 1 begins this evening at 12:10 PM Eastern, Race 2 will take place on Sunday at 9 AM CST.
