- SKI AUTOSPORTS extends dominant qualifying streak

It was a quick turnaround between Practice 2 and Qualifying on Saturday morning for the GT America powered by AWS series, but the grid made the most of their fifteen minute session to put down some flying lap times and set the stage for Race 1 to come in the afternoon.
It was championship leader Memo Gidley who settled the score and locked in another pole position for SKI AUTOSPORTS as he aims to wrap up his title bid with a significant points lead over his fellow competitors.
SRO3 Class
Memo Gidley topped the SRO3 class early on in his No. 56 SKI Autosport Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVOII, with Scott Blind in second place in the No. 45 Ruckus Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO. However with under 9 minutes to go, Joel Cortes went second quickest in his No. 19 RS1 Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO, posting the same time of 1:22.936 of Memo Gidley, with 0.000 separating the two. Ross Chouest went on to go third quickest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R.
As the session progressed, Gidley kept topping the SRO3 charts and posted a better time than his previous, now leading with a lap of 1:22.511 and ahead of Cortes by 0.425 seconds. Chouest edged our Cortes to second place in the closing stages, but Cortes re-claimed his second place on the grid with 3 minutes remaining in the session.
GT4, Cup, and INV Class
Newcomer to the series Zachry Lee set off for the session in his No. 11 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang GT4 (S650), qualifying ninth overall and just ahead of Cup competitor David Lecko, who is in a position to clinch the class title with the No. 89 RacingSupport Ginetta GTP8. Meanwhile, the INV class No. 89x Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of Christian Pipas will start Race 1 from eleventh overall on the grid.
