There was a brief red flag at the beginning of the opening session of the weekend for the GT America powered by AWS field, but the remainder of Practice 1 continued smoothly as competitors got up to speed with the twists and turns of Barber Motorsports Park. After 30 minutes elapsed, it was Todd Parriott of Kellymoss who put his No. 13 Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO at the top of the timesheets, just ahead of fellow Kellymoss teammate Michael Clark in the No. 017 machine. Championship leader Memo Gidley went third fastest with his No. 56 SKI AUTOSPORTS Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVOII as he looks to seal the deal on his title hunt. The top five was rounded off by Ross Chouest in the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R and Joel Cortes in the No. 19 RS1 Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO.
