GT America powered by AWS wrapped up the championship’s action-packed CieloVision GT World Texas powered by Samsung weekend at Circuit of The Americas with Race 2, delivering intense battles, late-race drama, and dominant performances. As temperatures cooled slightly compared to earlier sessions, drivers pushed to the limit in pursuit of crucial points.
Memo Gidley was picture perfect yet again, scoring double wins in Austin, marking his fourth consecutive victory of the 2026 season.
SRO3 Class
Memo Gidley launched cleanly from pole in the No. 56 SKI AUTOSPORTS Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVOII, immediately establishing control at the front of the field. Behind him, Kyle Washington made an early move in the No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO, gaining a position over Tony Davis in the No. 04 HP-TECH Motorsport Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO on the opening lap.
The fight for the podium remained intense throughout the race. Tony Davis suffered an off-course excursion in the final 15 minutes, falling back to fifth before mounting a recovery drive to fourth.
Scott Blind, driving the No. 45 Ruckus Racing Porsche 911 GT3-R (992) EVO, held third position in the meantime before a late mistake proved costly. With under 10 minutes remaining, Blind ran wide and spun, dropping down the order and opening the door for others.
That opportunity was seized by Jason McCarthy in the No. 115 One11 Competition Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO, who moved into podium contention and held firm through the closing laps.
Out front, Gidley remained untouchable, securing his fourth consecutive victory and completing a weekend sweep. Washington brought the No. 32 machine home in second, while McCarthy rounded out the podium.
“My engineer is my number one, she’s awesome,” exclaimed Memo Gidley at the podium. “We have such a core group right now, it really is the A team. Everybody just knocks it out of the park and does such a great job. It’s such a pleasure. You get spoiled in this kind of situation because everything is done so well that all you have to do is focus on driving. Thank you to SKI AUTOSPORTS, and to Kent, Melissa and all the team. Someone has to go out there and win some races, and I thought it might as well be me. I’m just trying to get out there and inspire others and give maximum effort. That's what I try to do all the time.”

Cup Class
David Lecko capped off a meaningful home weekend with another uncontested victory in the No. 89 RacingSupport entry, completing a strong weekend for the Ginetta platform at Circuit of The Americas.
“ It was amazing,” expressed David Lecko. “I got to do a lot of laps very consistently, which is what I work on on days like today.”
GT4 Class
Jozsef Petkes delivered another commanding performance in the GT4 class, securing back-to-back victories in the No. 83 RCX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Craig Lumsden followed closely behind in the No. 610 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO, finishing second.
“ It was so hot outside yesterday, today felt a lot better,” said Jozsef Petkes. “The energy levels were easier to manage, and it made moving through traffic much better as well.”
