Early Signs Point to an Exciting 2026 Season for SRO America

As preparations shift toward the 2026 season, momentum across SRO America’s paddock is already unmistakable. With increased entries across multiple championships, a highly anticipated new venue on the calendar, and a set of thoughtful format refinements designed to enhance competition, the overall race weekend experience is on the rise.

New Stop on the Calendar

One of the most exciting developments for 2026 is the addition of Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Long regarded as one of the most iconic circuits in North American racing, Road Atlanta’s elevation changes, technical sectors, and rich history make it a natural fit for SRO America’s portfolio. Its inclusion adds further prestige to an already robust calendar, blending a new challenge with the return of familiar, fan-favorite venues that competitors know and trust.

Increased Entries

Team interest has followed quickly. Across the paddock, conversations are already underway, with several organizations signaling plans to expand their programs and new entrants expressing interest in joining the grids. That growth reflects confidence not only in the sporting direction of the championships, but also in the stability and long-term vision SRO America continues to provide.

With powerhouse teams set to return to the grid, while others look to expand with multi-car programs, the championship caliber is only getting stronger with the start of the 2026 season fast approaching.

Format Changes

Format evolution has also played a key role in shaping the positive outlook for 2026. Adjustments aimed at creating more streamlined and efficient race weekends, while adding strategic depth on track, have been well received. From headline races that sharpen the competitive focus to schedule refinements that reduce the operational load for teams, the changes are designed to deliver stronger racing without compromising on SRO’s core values of accessibility and sustainability.

Each championship enters 2026 with its own distinct momentum:

  • GT World Challenge America powered by AWS continues to build its global relevance through manufacturer championships and the Level Up pathway to the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. The previous doubleheader structure is being replaced with a feature 3-hour race, adding a new layer of excitement to the race weekend experience.
  • GT America powered by AWS is poised for growth as grid sizes expand, more diversity on the grid, which will only see the competition tighten.
  • Pirelli GT4 America remains a benchmark series internationally, consistently producing capacity fields and serving as a proving ground for both drivers and manufacturers. It maintains the beloved two 60-minute sprint format, with the return of the special 3-hour Lone Star Enduro at Circuit of The Americas.
  • TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School is likewise on an upward trajectory, fueled by format changes with new 35-minute sprint races and increasing OEM involvement.

More Growth and Engagement

All of this unfolds against the backdrop of a record-setting year for SRO America’s audience growth. Rising attendance figures, expanding digital reach, and continued innovation in livestreaming and fan engagement have strengthened the connection between the paddock and its global audience. That momentum carries directly into 2026, reinforcing the value proposition for teams, partners, and fans alike.

With expanded grids already taking shape, a marquee new venue joining the schedule, and competition formats continuing to evolve, the groundwork is being laid for a compelling 2026 season. While final entry lists and announcements are still to come in the new year, the direction is clear: SRO America enters its next chapter with increased confidence and growing anticipation across every level of the organization.
