GT America Reveals Format Changes for 2025

Exciting changes are on the horizon for the GT America powered by AWS championship, with further updates arriving for the upcoming 2025 season. While the core foundation of the series remains the same, with exciting sprint races featuring multi-class racing for Bronze and Silver rated drivers, the updates are set to enhance the overall race weekend experience.

The multi-class aspect has been a longtime point of interest, with GT3, GT2, and GT4 race cars running concurrently as they share the track. With new up-and-coming talents dueling alongside veteran drivers, the close action has seen championship battles come down the wire, with titles only being decided in the final rounds.

The on-track spectacles will be further extended in 2025, moving up to two 50-minute sprint races per event, allowing competitors to maximize their time and experience on track. Additionally, and most notably, a new class format will be introduced, allowing for two drivers to pair up and share a single car.

More specifically, the GT3 and GT2 classes will present drivers with multiple options. The Am category will consist of a single Bronze or dual Bronze driver entries. The Pro-Am class will feature a combination of Silver and Bronze-rated drivers. The GT4 class will remain single Bronze driver only as per the current system.

GT America will join the regular SRO America calendar for the majority of the rounds, including the likes of Sonoma Raceway, Circuit Of The Americas, Sebring International Raceway, Virginia International Raceway, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The series will also take an extra trip to California to compete in support of the prestigious Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The series will continue to be showcased through global livestreams, which are viewed by millions of people over the course of the season. Furthermore, the race weekend experience offers more than just racing, as drivers gain access to the GT Paddock Club, an inclusive space for family and friends to take in the event.
