Rothberg and Sherman Lock In Pole Positions at Road America

It was a bright and early start for the GT America powered by AWS competitors as they set off for their fifteen minute Qualifying session on Saturday morning at Road America.

The No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 commanded by Justin Rothberg went fastest in the SRO3 Class, while Isaac Sherman topped the GT4 charts in his No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

SRO3 Class

After securing the best lap times in both practice sessions, Justin Rothberg was in top form once again in his No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3. As he drove around the National Park of Speed, he continued to improve on his own lap times, and ultimately went on to clinch pole position with a time of 2:06.19.

James Sofronas followed closely in his No. 14 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT3, missing out on pole position by less than half a second. Kyle Washington masterfully tamed the National Park of Speed, claiming third in class aboard his No. 32 GMG Racing Porsche 992 GT3 R.

The top 5 for the Qualifying session was rounded off by Jason Daskalos in the No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the No. 3 SKI Autosport Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Johnny O’Connell.

GT4 Class

Although his on-track running came to an early end the day prior, Isaac Sherman brought his A-game in Qualifying, securing pole position in the GT4 class with his No. 098 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport with a best time of 2:16.592.

Curt Swearingin will line up alongside Sherman on the front row, looking to challenge in his No. 7 ACI Motorsports Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Gray Newell followed just a mere 0.014 seconds behind in his No. 25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, and is set to take the green flag from the second row on the grid.

Todd Parriott in the No. 31 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 will line up in fourth, with Nicholas Shanny completing the top 5 in Qualifying with his No. 21 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M4 GT4 G82.
