Avondale, Louisiana - The GT America powered by AWS took the track bright and early on Saturday morning for qualifying. With overcast skies and the humidity lurking in the air, it was imperative that the drivers used their time around NOLA Motorsports Park wisely, as they only had a 15 minute window to attempt to put down a perfect lap.
SRO3 Class
The leaderboard was ever-changing in the SRO3 Class, with drivers exchanging fastest laps one after the other. It was ultimately Memo Gidley who reigned supreme and snagged pole position in his No. 101 TKO Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 with a time of 1:35.243. Scott Smithson followed closely behind in the No. 08 DXDT Mercedes-AMG GT3, separated by a gap of 0.441 seconds to the best time ahead. Adam Adelson will be lining up third on the grid ahead of Race One in the No. 120 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The final two spots in the top five were claimed by Jeff Burton on board the No. 91 DXDT Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3, and Jason Daskalos manning the No. 27 CRP Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3.
GT4 Class
After earning the top time in Practice Two yesterday, Elias Sabo continued to demonstrate his rapid pace in the No. 8 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 and clinched pole position in the GT4 Class. With a time of 1:44.020, which gave him a small 0.281 second buffer to the car behind, the No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of the hometown hero Ross Chouest.
Gray Newell followed in third in the No. 25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, while Todd Coleman and Jason Bell rounded off the top five in the No. 69 Archangel Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 and the No. 2 Flying Lizard Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, respectively.
