A clean Practice Two greeted the GT America powered by AWS series this afternoon at Sonoma Raceway. The 2.505-mile, 12-turn circuit gave the field of 28 cars warmer weather and a dry track after a cold, damp morning for Practice One.
The sunnier skies and 20-degree temperature swing brought out thousands of fans to enjoy the final practice of the GT America powered by AWS series. More time on track shook up the field with multiple teams swapping fast laps to be the top finisher for the close of the day.
SRO3 Class
Adam Adelson of Wright Motorsports in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R put a top to the Mercedes domination in the SRO3 Class with a 1:38.981 lap. Anthony Bartone was second fastest in Practice Two but the top Mercedes. Memo Gidley, Round Two winner, cracked the top five as the third fastest in the No. 101 TKO Motorsports Mercedes AMG GT3. The No. 04 Crowdstrike by Riley machine of George Kurtz finished fifth in the session.
GT4 Class
Elias Sabo in the Flying Lizard Motorsports No. 8 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 beat out teammate Jason Bell, Round Two winner, as the fastest in the GT4 Class. Bell and his No. 2 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 was narrowly faster than Robb Holland and the No. 099 Rotek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. Todd Coleman stayed inside the top five in his second session at Sonoma Raceway ranking fourth on the time charts with the No. 69 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4. Rob Walker rounded out the top five in Practice Two with his No. 253 BMW M4 GT4.
