Alton, Virginia - The GT America powered by AWS qualifying session got underway Saturday morning under perfect sunny weather conditions at the VIRginia International Raceway. George Kurtz behind the wheel of the #04 CrowdStrike with Riley Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 settled in after a few laps and had the fastest lap time of the session with a 1:45.647.
SRO3
Joining Kurtz on the front row will be Jason Harward in the #88 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3. The second row for Race 1 will be the #191 Zelus Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 driven by Jeff Burton and the #27 Daskalos Motorsports Audi R8 LMS with Jason Daskalos behind the wheel. A pair of Ferrari’s will occupy the third row with Andy Pilgrim in the #56 SKI Autosports Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 and the #37 Triarsi Competizione Ferrari 488 GT3 driven by Justin Wetherill. Rounding out the SRO3 field will be #70 Mishumotors Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R with Mirco Schultis behind the wheel.
GT4
Moisey Uretsky will start on pole position in the #55 Accelerating Performance Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 after laying down the fastest time in class with a 1:45:414. The last time Uretzsky finished on the podium was at St. Petersburg with two third-place finishes.
The second row of the GT4 class will be the #120 Premier Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport driven by Adam Adelson and #79 RENNTech Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT4 with Chris Gumprecht at the wheel. They will be followed by the #50 Chouest Provoledo Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 with driver Ross Chouest and the #2 GMG Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 piloted by Jason Bell. Rounding out the top ten in class is the #8 Flying Lizard Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 driven by Elias Sabo, the #39 Cameron Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 with Chris Cagnazzi behind the wheel, #25 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 piloted by Gray Newell, Robb Holland in the #99 RoTek Racing Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, and Marko Radisic in the #22 SRQ Motorsports BMW M4 GT4.
GT2
CJ Moses in the #22 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2 had a lap time of 1:51.811 and will start in the 8th position overall.
Race 1 begins at 12:10 PM EST. Race 2 will take place on Sunday at 8:45 AM EST.
